The Daytrippers is a 1996 film that combines comedy with a great mystery and lots of drama. Louis D'Amico (Stanley Tucci) and Eliza Malone D'Amico (Hope Davis) are a loving and fairly content married couple. During her annual cleaning day, Eliza stumbles across a letter that she finds very interesting. Upon reading this letter, she discovers that it is an old love letter addressed to her husband. What will she make of this love letter? Eliza decides to go to her mother for advice, so she climbs into her beat up station wagon and goes to visit her. This trip turns into an all day event and along the way she picks up more people in her family, including her sister Jo (Parker Posey), Jo's boyfriend, and both her parents. These five go into the city in order to confront her husband, Louis. Eliza and her family meet many strange, eccentric characters on their way into the city and discover many things about themselves that they were unaware of before this trip began.moreless
