Movie Summary

Director:
Brian Cox

2007

PG-13
According to Aztec prophecy, the destruction of the world will be preceded by three days of sun showers, a sign of the god's tears. The sun will then be extinguished, the earth destroyed, and the time of the Sixth Sun ushered in. Under the Sixth Sun, the Aztec religion will be restored to its former glory and the lands of its people reclaimed. While illegally crossing the border from Mexico to the U.S., a young orphan boy, Diego, is singled out by a fellow traveler, a strange old Indian man who speaks the ancient Aztec language known as Nahautl. The old man leads him to a hidden pagan shrine, carves into his hand the symbol of the Aztec god of human sacrifice Tezcatlipoca, and declares that the boy's blood is pure. Then as quickly as the bizarre encounter began, it ends. The old Indian dies in the throes of strange invocations and mutterings, leaving the boy abandoned and alone in the desert. And as it turns out marked for life.moreless
