BIG STARS... BIGGER LAUGHS! THE DEAN MARTIN CELEBRITY ROASTS were a fixture on NBC's Thursday night lineup from 1973 to 1984. In those 11 years, Dean and his panel of pals successfully ridiculed, embarrassed and made fun of legendary stars and America loved it! They were patterned after the roasts held at the New York Friars Club in NYC. The format had the celebrity guest seated at a banquet table, and one by one the guest of honor was affectionately chided or insulted about his career by his fellow celebrity friends. These days, the roast format is sort of American folklore. Where else would the guest of honor be showered with insults? THE DEAN MARTIN CELEBRITY ROASTS bring back all the fun from years gone by. This show features two complete roasts-full of hilarious camp and humor as comedy legends Bob Hope and Johnny Carson are roasted by a who's who of stage, screen, sports and political stars!
