The Delivery (1999) is a delightfully quirky Dutch crime drama that centers on a road trip to smuggle drugs from the Netherlands to Spain. Alfred (Fedya van Huet) and Anna (Esme de la Bretoniere), a Dutch couple, get mixed up with the European underworld and wind up having to help smuggle a stash of ecstasy. Alfred must leave his wife Anna as collateral as he undertakes a wild journey through the European countryside with Brit Guy (Freddy Douglas) and anti-European Union terrorist Loulou (Aurelie Meriel). To make matters more complicated, Loulou, who serves as the group's tour guide, manages to get the trio chased by her fellow terrorists as they make their journey southward. Put all these elements together, and you have a surprising, over-the-top European crime drama filled with action and snappy dialogue! The Delivery is directed by Roel Reine and produced by Rebel Film BV and Two Independent BV.
