The Denver Kid, a film produced in 1948 by Republic Pictures, is a dramatic western that takes place south of the border. It effectively weaves murder, revenge, and suspense into one intriguing story. Lieutenant Rocky Lane (Allan Lane), a border patrol officer, is on a mission to discover the true identity of the person who murdered Lieutenant Roberts, the brother of Tim Roberts (William Henry). Tim, who has been falsely accused of murdering his brother, goes into hiding and takes on a new identity. Lieutenant Lane departs for the southern border and goes undercover. He then infiltrates a band of outlaws in an attempt to track down the real killer, to avenge the murder of Lieutenant Roberts, and to hopefully clear Tim of the murder charges. Throughout his often harrowing and perilous adventures, Lieutenant Lane receives aid from his ally Nugget (Eddy Waller) and his faithful stallion, Black Jack (Black Jack).
