The Devil's 8 is a 1969 American film directed by Burt Topper and starring Christopher George, Fabian, and Tom Nardini. ATF agent Ray Faulkner (George) drafts six convicts to help oust a group of rebellious moonshiners and their leader Burl (Ralph Meeker). Faulkner trains the convicts in car racing, fist fighting, weapons usage, and explosives handling in hopes of preparing them for the infamous fighting abilities of Burl. Faulkner then recruits a fellow agent to help him prepare the convicts, and rounding out the group of the titular 8. Training six cons is harder than Faulkner could have imagined, and tensions run high until he is able to get them under control. He promises them that if they follow his orders and the moonshine ring is dismantled then they will have their freedom returned. This low-budget film never takes itself very seriously and allows the potboiler genre actors to shine.
