The Dog Problem follows one odd pairing of man and mutt through the tribulations of life and romance. Man's best friend turns out to be anything but in this charming but quirky romantic comedy written and directed by Scott Caan. Solo (Giovanni Ribisi) is a failed writer with nothing to show for his life but an outstanding debt to his beloved psychiatrist (Don Cheadle). In order to cure his client, the psychiatrist suggests Solo adopt a dog for companionship, and to get play from the ladies. But, the mutt turns into more of a problem than a magnet. In order to make some money to pay back loan shark Benny (Kevin Corrigan), Solo thinks about selling his dog to a rich canine lover (Mena Suvari). Once Solo starts showing his scruffy mongrel the neighborhood, he bumps into Lola (Lynn Collins) and her terrifying pit bull. The two dog owners connect through their chance meetings, and their romance grows. This playful film is a charming peek into the heart of romance, a journey that gives the lovers of the world hopes for new beginnings.moreless
