The Donner Party, a group of people from Springfield, Illinois, in 1846, gathered their belongings and set off in search of a better life. The residents were going to California, hoping to find fertile land and job opportunities. However, when the caravan neared their destination at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, a blizzard caught the group by surprise. The early winter isolated the Donner Party until late February. With few supplies, group members buried many who died of starvation in the snow. At the end of winter, the survivors drove on and arrived in California. How did these people manage to live without food? This film, written and directed by T.J. Martin, is based on the real events of The Donner Party ordeal, during a grueling winter at the Sierra Nevada pass. This drama film portrays survivors, William Foster (Crispin Glover), William Eddy (Clayne Crawford), and a small unit of liberals within the Donner Party, stretched to the limit of human endurance.
