The Elephant King is a 2006 drama written and directed by Seth Grossman. The film explores the relationship between brothers Jake (Jonne Roberts) and Oliver Hunt (Tate Ellington). Jake, a scientist working in Thailand, is living a life of reckless abandon. Oliver, who is suffering from depression, agrees to accept Jake's invitation to visit at the insistence of their overbearing mother (Ellen Burstyn). Their mother has had enough of Jake's shenanigans and wants Oliver to bring Jake home. When Oliver arrives in Thailand, however, his brother has other ideas. In an effort to entice him into his exotic lifestyle, Jake treats Oliver to a night of hedonistic pleasures. Swept away by the exotic locale and party atmosphere, Jake falls in love with a beautiful local bartender, Lek (Florence Faivre). As the story continues and the three descend further into a life of decadence, Oliver finds out his meeting with Lek was far more than a coincidence.
