The Entity

Movie Summary

Director:
Sidney J. Furie
Released:
1981
Rating:
R
The Entity is the 1982 cult supernatural horror classic that has not lessened in its power to shock and terrify in the last 29 years since its release. Purportedly based on a real incident, and adapted by Frank De Felitta from his novel of the same name, Carla Moran (Barbara Hershey, Beaches, Black Swan) is a single mother of three children, living and working in small-town California. Without warning, she's raped in her own bedroom by a seemingly invisible assailant. As the assaults become more frequent, it becomes apparent that Carla is the victim of some form of supernatural entity. She seeks help from her local doctor (Ron Silver, Blue Steel, The Arrival), and eventually a team of parapsychologists led by Dr Elizabeth Cooley (Jacqueline Brooks, The Naked Gun 2 _ The Smell of Fear, The Good Son, Star Trek: The Next Generation). Directed by Sidney J. Furie (Iron Eagle, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace).
