The Errand Boy is a 1961 comedy directed by Jerry Lewis. Morty Tashman (Jerry Lewis) has a less than glamorous job as a paper-hanger, although working on the lot of Paramutual Pictures at least gives him a glimpse into the lives of people with better jobs than his. Unexpectedly, however, Morty finds himself recruited for a much different role: the executives, led by Tom Paramutual (Brian Donlevy), want Morty to act as a spy for them. Mr. Paramutual wants Morty to find out why the studio seems to be spending far too much money, and he needs an innocuous-looking insider to get the job done. As a cover, Morty takes on a job as a mail clerk. Working alongside people such as Mr. Sneak (Howard McNear), Grumpy (Stanley Adams) and Miss Giles (Renée Taylor), Morty tries his hardest to figure out the budget, but instead he just winds up getting into one sticky situation after another.
