The Experiment is a 2010 dramatic thriller directed by Paul Scheuring. In the film, 26 men choose to take part in a two week psychological experiment that promises a $14,000 paycheck when completed. The study wants to measure how these men will react in a fake prison setting. The participants are given entrance interviews where they state how they would expect themselves to behave in a theoretical prison situation. Next, the men are randomly selected to be either a guard or a prisoner. The scientists will be watching the men on video surveillance and they give them only one rule, no violence of any kind or the experiment is over and no one will be compensated. Initially, the study begins the way everyone expects. However, all the men involved quickly realize this experiment may not be worth the money they were offered. Can the group avoid violence long enough to collect their paychecks, or will the experiment fail before anyone can benefit?moreless
