The Eye is a 2008 dramatic horror thriller directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud. The film is the American remake of the 2001 Honk Kong film Jian Gui directed by the Pang brothers. In the film, Sydney Wells (Jessica Alba) is a successful violinist with a tragic past. At age five, she was blinded due to a terrible accident. At age 20, a sympathetic doctor, Dr. Paul Faulkner (Alessandro Nivola), encourages Sydney to try an experimental cornea transplant surgery to restore her sight, she is eager to try it. She is happy with her life, but the idea of being able to see again is worth any risk associated with the surgery. The corneas are from an anonymous donor and initially looks like a success. However, as Sydney starts to regain her vision strange things begin to happen, she begins to see images she cannot explain. These strange images leave Sydney confused. She does not know whether this is normal for someone in her position or if this is something paranormal.moreless
