Movie Summary

Director:
Thomas Bezucha
Released:
2005
Rating:
PG-13
The Family Stone is comedy film brought to you by director Thomas Bezucha. The film, released in 2005, showcases an excellent cast including: Diane Keaton, Craig Nelson, Dermot Mulroney, Sarah Jessica Parker, Luke Wilson, Claire Danes, Rachel McAdams, Tyrone Giordano, Brian J. White, and Elizabeth Reaser. The movie centers around a seemingly miserable woman, Meredith Morton (Sarah Jessica Parker), as she tries to fit in with her boyfriend's family during the holidays in Connecticut. Meredith is a cold and frigid business executive living in Manhattan. She and her easy-going boyfriend Everett set out for Connecticut, where they will spend the holidays with Everett's family. Meredith has an uncomfortable and awkward time becoming acquainted with the Stones, for they embrace a different way of life than she does. The Stones, bohemian and free-spirited, scrutinize Meredith, and question why Everett has fallen for someone so utterly far detached from their standards. In a desperate attempt to save the situation, Meredith asks her sister Julie (Claire Danes) to come and join her at the Stones. But Julie unintentionally exacerbates the situation. Get your rocks off watching The Family Stone! A comedy you don't want to miss.moreless
