The Fan is a sports action-thriller directed by Tony Scott that follows an obsessive San Francisco Giants fan and knife salesman named Gil Renard (Robert DeNiro) on his mission to turn things around for his favorite baseball player Bobby Rayburn (Wesley Snipes). Now a divorced father, devoted to his job, son, and team, Gil will do anything to help his team's slumping, high-priced star Bobby. Gil and Bobby soon strike up a friendship due to unforeseen circumstances, now Bobby will soon realize there is a price to pay for his friendship, as psychotic Gil becomes obsessed with keeping his frienship alive. The Fan takes you deep into the mind of a psychotic sports fan, hell bent on blurring the line between fan and professional ball players.
