The Far Frontier is a western action movie about a gang illegally sneaking criminals across the Mexican border into the United States. The star is Roy Rogers, playing himself, along with his trusty horse Trigger. Bart Carroll (Roy Barcroft) leads the gang that is smuggling the wanted men, who are hiding inside large drums on oil company trucks. While the trucks appear legal, border patrol officer Tom Sharper (Clayton Moore) uncovers the plot. In the ensuing fight he is hurt and captured by the gang. Noticing the missing officer, Judge Bullfincher (Andy Devine) orders a search party, led by Roy Rogers, to look for Tom. Bart and his cohorts try to mislead the searchers by making it look like Tom Sharper is a killer and a bank robber. Roy discovers the truth in the end. There is some critical use of carrier pigeons that reminds one of pre-tech times. The horseback riding is death-defying and Roy sings a few cowboy songs along the way.moreless
