The Flinstones in Viva Rock Vegas is a 2000 comedy directed by Brian Levant. It is the prequel to 1994's The Flinstones and is a live-action adaptation of the classic children's cartoon series of the same name. Wealthy Pearl Slaghoople (Joan Collins) wants her daughter Wilma (Kristen Johnston) to get engaged to Chip Rockefeller (Thomas Gibson), the suave owner of a casino. Since Wilma wants to be independent, she defies her mother and runs away from home. She soon befriends waitress Betty O'Shale (Jane Krakowski), who invites Wilma to live in her apartment and helps her get a job at the restaurant. As the girls are waitressing one day, they meet best friends Fred Flintstone (Mark Addy) and Barney Rubble (Stephen Baldwin) and agree to go on a double date with them. Fred instantly becomes smitten with Wilma and decides to propose. However, his plans soon go awry when conniving Chip walks back into Wilma's life and is determined to marry her.
