The Fly is a classic horror film directed by Kurt Neumann. The film opens with Helene Delambre (Patricia Owens) confessing to her brother-in-law Francois (Vincent Price) she has murdered her husband, having crushed his head and hand within a machine press. While at first Helene adamantly refuses to tell anyone why she committed this atrocious act, eventually her brother-in-law coerces the full story from her, revealing a terrifying tale of science gone awry. Helen's scientist husband Andre (David Hedison) completed work on a teleportation device, and after achieving a milestone in transporting living organisms used himself as the first human test subject. However, his first transport had an additional passenger: a simple fly, causing the two organisms to become scrambled and fused at a genetic level. As the monstrous hybrid emerging from the teleportation struggles to fix the mishap, his degenerating mind starts succumbing to beastly desires, proving a danger to wife and child. In desperation, Andre enacts a plan to recover his lost humanity before the fly takes over completely and brings doom to everyone he loves.moreless
