The Fourth Kind is a science fiction film, based on a true story, about strange occurrences in Nome, Alaska. The film begins with a televised interview of psychiatrist, Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich), telling the story of a close encounter she experienced in Alaska. Abigail's husband, Will (Julian Vergov), was murdered in August of 2000, leaving Abigail alone with their two children, Ronnie (Raphael Coleman), and Ashley (Mia McKenna-Bruce). Meanwhile, Abigail sees three patients who all experience an odd occurrence; a white owl stares at them through a window every night. She puts two of her patients under hypnosis, and both of them talk about strange creatures entering their homes. Abigail believes that these patients have been kidnapped by non-human creatures, and she wonders if she may have been a victim herself. When Ashley is kidnapped, Abigail begins a search to find her, and what she discovers makes her question what is reality and what is not. The Fourth Kind was directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi.moreless

The New York Times Stephen Holden

May be humorless, paranoid nonsense, but its biggest failure is its inability to scare.

Even the most gullible auds will be challenged to buy into the picture, billed as "based on the actual case studies" and, in any case, rendered rather boring by writer-director Ola...

They try to get 'real' about strange occurrences. Instead they get ludicrous.
