The Freshman is a movie about a college student who inadvertently accepts a job working for a mobster. Just moments after arriving in New York for his first year at NYU, Clark Kellogg has all of his possessions stolen by a shifty cab driver named Victor Ray. A few days later, Clark catches up to Victor and threatens to report him to the police. To save his own skin, Victor strikes a bargain with Clark: in exchange for not calling the police, he will get Clark a great job with Victor's uncle, Carmine Sabatini. The job turns out to be almost too good to be true. In exchange for picking up the occasional parcel, Clark is paid five hundred dollars a week by Carmine. Despite his strong feelings for Carmine, Clark immediately suspects that he might be a criminal. His hunch is confirmed when he is chased by the FBI. Will Clark work with the FBI to apprehend Carmine, or will he remain loyal to the man who has quickly become a father figure to him?
