The Future of Food is a compelling documentary about the prevalence of genetically enhanced food across the world. The film delves into the truths behind the vaguely-labelled, chemically-engineered food which stocks most shelves is supermarkets today. Deborah Koons Garcia, director of the film, explains the impact such technological processes have had on small-time farmers, and juxtaposes their stories against the stories of corporate and political forces who have undoubtedly profited from their implementation. There are several ethical issues at stake with the use of these technologies, and yet not much is done to stop these processes from evolving. The film takes a comprehensive approach, attacking the issues from all angles. Furthermore, the topic is presented in an easy way, although the nature of the content is not easy to swallow - the facts in this movie will alarm you.
