1987
Rating:
PG-13
The Gate is the 1987 cult horror favorite that is both every kid's secret fantasy and their worst nightmare from director Tibor Takacs (I, Madman, Sabotage, Bad Blood). Glen (a young and adorable Stephen Dorff, Blade, Judgment Night) digs a hole and finds a geode rock. He opens it with Terry and it has light in it and writes something. Later, Glen and Terry think something is wrong. Then, Terry realizes that the record he's listening to and chanting along with just happens to have a Dark Book in it that contains the same writing as what was written later. He reads the book and figures out there are demons in the hole and he and Glen must seal the hole or they will destroy the world. The demons come alive and destroy the house, take Terry and Al as sacrifices and Glen destroys the demon with a large rocket. To mark the destruction of the demon, fireworks go off over his destroyed house and Terry and Al come back to life and all is well.moreless
