The Girl Rush is a comedy focusing on the misadventures of single woman Kim Halliday (Rosalind Russell) and her "inheritance." Halliday is alerted to the death of her degenerate, gambling father and a supposed inheritance that was left to her in his will. Kim learns that her father has left her no money, as he was broke in death, but he did leave her a share of a Las Vegas hotel. Hoping to cash in on her inheritance, she flies out to Las Vegas to see what she actually has; however, she isn't expecting what she gets. Kim Halliday is stuck between a rock and a hard place as a no-nonsense casino entrepreneur, Victor Monte (Fernando Lamas), attempts to get her share of the hotel for himself. Instead she tries to sell to the son of a wealthy hotel owner in hopes of making some money out of her "inheritance".
