The Girl Who Played with Fire is a 2010 Swedish film starring Noomi Rapace adapted from the popular book series of the same name written by Stieg Larson and is the sequel to the popular film, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Mikael Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander are back and ready for more action. The first film told a complete story but the second film goes deeper into the Lisbeth mythology. Also, the man Dragon Tattoo fans love to hate, Bjurman, is back and he wants his tattoo off. The film was written by Jonas Frykberg in conjunction with Stieg Larsson's book. The film was directed by Daniel Alfredson, the older brother of Tomas Alfredson who was responsible for Let the Right One In. This film, like the original, was very successful earning over 53 million dollars compared to its 4 million dollar budget. The movie was financially successful enough to warrant the third book in the series, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, to be adapted into a feature film also directed by Daniel Alfredson.moreless
