The Girl with the Pistol is a foreign comedy film about a womanizing Sicilian man, Vincenzo Macaluso (Carlo Giuffre), and his desire to be with a gorgeous Sicilian girl. Rather than try to bed her through traditional tactics, such as wining and dining, he sends his henchmen to abduct her from her home village. Laughter, as well as problems, ensues when his minions bring back her cousin Asunta Patane (Monica Vitta) instead. This is when Vincenzo decides to forgo his quest of that mysterious and beautiful Sicilian woman temporarily, and make love to Asunta instead. She has no desire, but he forces himself on her and they wind up making love. Scared of what people will think of her, Asunta implores Vincenzo to marry her, but he wants no part, so he runs away and flees the country. Determined to salvage her reputation with marriage, Asunta chases him around the world, determined to force the man who bed her, to marry her.moreless
