Movie Summary

Director:
Ji-woon Kim
Released:
2008
Rating:
R
The Good, The Bad, and the Weird is the 2008 mystery adventure that brings together in a sudden dramatic clash a faithful bounty hunter, Park Do-won (Woo-sung Jung), a nasty gangster, Park Chang-yi (Byung-hun Lee), and a simply odd train robber, Yoon Tae-goo (Kang-ho Song). They meet, of all places, on a train in Machuria in the 1940s, where together they discover a mysterious treasure map that promises to lead them to treasure and wealth buried by the Qing Dynasty before its collapse. Enemies in the Japanese army and Chinese bandits seek to close in on the train that careens through the rough terrain as they get closer and closer to their reward. An obvious play on the classic The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, Jee-woon Kim directs this hilarious, ridiculous thrill ride that keeps the audience holding their seats until the train's last turn and an anxious desert stand-off.
