The Great Flamarion is a 1945 black-and-white dramatic mystery directed by Anthony Mann. In the film, The Great Flamarion (Erich von Stroheim) is an expert marksman who works in a vaudeville circus. He is known by many to be an angry man who has a strong dislike for women. However, he is accompanied in his show by a husband and wife team, Connie (Mary Beth Hughes) and Al Wallace (Dan Duryea). Connie and Al have a terrible relationship, Al is not good to Connie and he is also a flagrant alcoholic. Connie tries to get the attention of The Great Flamarion with little success at first. When she does get his attention, she is able to manipulate him to do whatever she would like. The Great Flamarion begins to change his attitude towards women, specifically Connie, until another man, Eddie Wheeler (Steve Barclay), enters Connie's life. Which man, Al, The Great Flamarion or Eddie, will end up in a relationship with Connie?moreless
