The Great God Gold is a 1935 mystery film that stars Sidney Blackmer, Martha Sleeper and Regis Toomey. It is directed by Arthur Lubin and is a black-and-white film. When a team of racketeers led by stockbroker and professional criminal John Hart (Blackmer), cheats Marcia Harper out of an inheritance left by her father, she sets out to send them to prison. When Marcia realizes she cannot take on the men herself, she seeks the help of a reporter, Phil Steward (Tommey), to help her uncover the truth behind the crime and criminals and help bring justice to her family. While investigating the crime, Phil comes across an old coin that he believes may help them bring down the team of criminals. But how does the coin tie into the crime and will it be enough to prove the men guilty, get back Marcia's money and help bring her family back together?
