The Great Van Robbery is a 1959 movie about an Interpol detective named Caesar Smith (Denis Shaw). It is up to him to track down the recent funds that were stolen from a Royal Mint van. The crooks deposited the money into a Rio de Janeiro bank, but that's only the start of Caesar's journey. In Rio de Janeiro, he finds a dead corpse while investigating, and he almost gets ran over by the girlfriend of a store owner. While in Rio de Janeiro, he finds useful tips that send him to Rome, Paris, and London. As his adventure nears the end, the danger he encounters increases tenfold. Eventually, Caesar narrows down the possible suspects to a group of shady coffee importers, but they say they have no connection to the robbery. With little evidence, Caesar must work very hard to convict the coffee importers. Will Caesar find and lock up the true criminals, or will they get away with the stolen funds forever? Max Varnel directs this classic crime drama full of suspense about a great van robbery and the pursuit of the culprits.moreless
