The Greatest Man In The World is a movie directed by Ralph Rosenbalm, featuring the story of Jack Smurch (Brad Davis), a young man who breaks Charles Lindbergh's long standing world record for flying around the world. He manages to find the most unusual ways of flying and stays airborne for four consecutive days, kept company only by a gallon of gin and a stack of salami meat. His unique tale of bravery, persistence and downright madness make him an instant hero in many parts of the world. The story features a reporter who is out to tell Smurch's tale, but realizes that he is not as nice as everyone depicts him to be. He is rude, arrogant and a man with a criminal record. However, the reporter's story is silenced and Smurch is taken away from the area so that he can be the hero everyone wants him to be. Will the truth about Smurch come out, or will he be exposed as the man he really is?moreless
