The Greatest (2009), written and directed by Shana Feste and starring Carey Mulligan, Aaron Johnson, Susan Sarandon, and Pierce Brosnan, is a drama about a family trying to deal with the death and events surrounding the death of son and brother, Bennett Brewer (Aaron Johnson). The romance between Bennett and Rose (Carey Mulligan) is just beginning to flourish when tragedy strikes. The two teenagers are in a car wreck that claims Bennett's life and after his death, his family must struggle to cope with their grief and Rose must struggle with being alone. As Bennett's family grieves, they must also face old problems and meet new challenges. In the midst of the turmoil, Rose shows up three months pregnant with Bennett's child, nowhere else to go, and in need of help. The family must then learn to let go of their anger, to accept Rose, and accept each other, in order for healing to occur.
