The Hallelujah Trail is a 1965 western comedy about a wagon train heading for Denver carrying whiskey and the battle that ensues when several groups all try to take control of the precious cargo. Young Captain Paul Slater (Jim Hutton), is ordered by his Commander, Colonel Thaddeus Gearhart (Burt Lancaster), to safely get the whiskey to a mining town in Denver, Colorado, but when other groups find out about what he's escorting chaos begins to arise around him. When the Temperance League sets their sights on destroying the cargo and a group of miners are set to strike unless whiskey rations are given out, trouble begins to brew. Once the local tribe of Indians and the United States Calvary join in on the battle of ownership it reaches all new heights and the question remains on whether the whiskey will ever really make it to its final destination in one piece.
