The Hard Corps is a 2006 Jean-Claude Van Damme action film directed by Sheldon Lettich. When combat veteran Philippe Sauvage (Jean-Claude Van Damme) returns from Afghanistan suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), he is hired by his former commanding officer, Clarence Bowden (Julian D. Christopher), to be the bodyguard of former World Heavyweight Boxing champion, Wayne Barclay (Razaaq Adoti). Things don't go particularly well for Sauvage. The first night on duty, Bowden is killed by uzi-packing gang-bangers sent by Barclay's archrival, rap mogul Terrell Singletery (Viv Leacock). Singleterry, who holds Barclay responsible for his previous incarceration, is determined to exact revenge on Barclay. To protect the former Boxing Champion, Sauvage builds a loyal "Hard Corp" team of recruits from Barclay's gym. When Sauvage develops romantic feelings for Barclay's sister, Tamara (Vivica A. Fox), Barclay grows suspicious of the former combat veteran. Now Sauvage must regain Barclay's trust before it's too late. Fans of Jean-Claude Van Damme films will find something to like in this action-packed martial arts film.moreless
