The Hard Word is an Australian film about three fraternal bank robbers waiting to be released from jail. Dal (Guy Pearce), Mal (Damien Richardson) and Shane (Joel Edergton) make up the Twentyman brothers. With the help of their lawyer Frank Malone (Robert Taylor), and two crooked cops, Mick Kelly (Vince Colosimo) and Jack O'Riordan (Paul Sonkkila), the brothers plan to pull off the ultimate heist. When the cops give the brothers a one-day pass to pull off as many bank robberies as they can the brothers think they have it made. That is until it is revealed that the cops have a trick up their sleeves also. They want the brothers to pull off one last impossible heist. Dale knows that the cops are tricking them, and it's up to him to come up with a way to beat them at their own game.
