The Headless Ghost is a black and white ghost story first released in 1959. The film follows three college students, two boys from the United States and one girl from Denmark, as they go on vacation to an English castle and meet a ghost. Students Bill (Richard Lyon), Ronnie (David Rose), and Ingrid (Liliane Sottane)- stay overnight in Ambrose Castle to see if it is really haunted, and get more than they bargained for. Several spirits, including that of the castle's first occupant, the Fourth Earl of Ambrose (Clive Revill), appear. The spirits ask for their help in locating another ghost's head, who remains trapped in an evil limbo until it is found. The ghosts need a living person to help with the 400 year old curse, so they students agree. As they take on the task, the three of them encounter difficulties with ghosts and the living alike to bring peace to the castle, in the end getting a much more exciting evening than they bargained for.moreless
