The Hiding Place is a poignant film from 2000. This movie tells the story of a son (Timothy Bottoms) who goes to his mother's house to visit her one day. While he is there, he begins to notice signs of aging in his once beautiful and vibrant mother (Kim Hunter). He begins to worry when intermittent signs of senility break through her personality. She notices that he is worried about her, and she pleads with him to not send her away to a sanitarium. She begs him to let her be and to quit worrying about her health. She assures him that she is completely fine and doesn't need to be taken from her home. This movie exposes how strong the relationship can be between a mother and her son and just how much that relationship can affect both people. It is a heartwarming film that showcases many loving moments along with moments of pain and worry.
