The Hitcher is a 2007 horror film and remake of the 1986 thriller of the same name, starring Sean Bean and Sophia Bush in a terrify tale about a young couple on a spring break road trip whose romantic getaway turns into a fight for survival against a murderous hitchhiker named Ryder (Bean). Jim Halsey, played by Zachary Knighton, and his girlfriend Grace Andrews, played by Sophia Bush, are cruising cross-country in their classic Oldsmobile when they have a troubling run-in with a stranger on the side of the road. Ryder asks for a ride after the young couple pass him and his broken-down car. Once in the confines of the Oldsmobile, Ryder draws a knife and begins terrorizing Zachary and Grace. As Ryder's violent games get bloodier and bloodier, the young couple will do anything to survive this spring break. The Hitcher is a terrifying film about the danger of picking up strangers on the open American roads.
