The Hole is a compelling twist on the teen horror film from Britain. A young woman, Liz Dunn (Thora Birch), screams for help on the road outside her school. Police psychologist Dr. Philippa Horwood (Embeth Davidtz) must find out why Liz and three classmates have been missing for a month. Liz describes how best friends Mike (Desmond Harrington) and Geoff (Laurence Fox) want to spend the weekend partying rather than endure a boring trip to Wales with the rest of their private school. These posh spoiled darlings are used to getting what they want and devise a scheme to bring girls and a good time an abandoned war bunker and party instead. Frankie (Keira Knightley) and Liz join the boys, and rely on nerdy Martyn (Daniel Brocklebank) to let them out in 3 days. He doesn't return, but he does tell the police a very different version of the story. Director Nick Hamm weaves an unusually absorbing mystery by switching between the teens' perspectives and offering no easy answers to what is the truth.moreless
