The Honeymoon Killers is a bewildering 1970 film which centers around a crazed couple who embark on a fast-paced killing spree as they prove their love to one another. The film is very loosely based on the 1940's Lonely Hearts murders. The Honeymoon Killers was written and directed by Leonard Kastle. The film revolves around a stealthy con artist named Lothario Ray Fernandez (Tony Lo Bianco) who romances vulnerable women, marries them, and inherits their money. After several years in the "business", he meets a beautiful and brilliant nurse named Martha Beck (Shirley Stoler) who shows interest in his "artistic skill". The couple falls madly in love with each other and join forces as they tour the country, bilking women out of their fortunes and murdering them when necessary. What is frightening is the more their love grows, so does their passion to kill. The Honeymoon Killers is shot in black and white, which helps accomplish a grainy 40's feel. The Honeymoon Killers is an eccentric film that will most likely leave you feeling dirty. Be sure to watch!moreless
