Movie Summary

Released:
1959
Rating:
R

In the 18th century, the arrogant, cruel Sir Hugo Baskerville (David Oxley) brutalizes a servant and prepares to turn the man's daughter over to his equally depraved companions, but she escapes. When he catches up with the girl in a ruined abbey, he kills her and then is attacked and killed himself - according to legend, by a huge and diabolical hound. 150 years later, Sherlock Holmes (Peter Cushing) and Dr. Watson (Andre Morell) are consulted by Dr. Richard Mortimer (Francis DeWolff) after the recent death of the wealthy Sir Charles Baskerville, who died -- apparently of fright -- on the Devonshire moors near that same ruined abbey. Sir Charles's nephew, Sir Henry, is the last of the Baskervilles - is he in danger? Is the legendary "hound of the Baskervilles" only too real, and loose upon the moors?
