The House on Skull Mountain

Movie Summary

Director:
Ron Honthaner
Released:
1974
Rating:
PG
The House on Skull Mountain is a 1974 horror mystery film directed by Ron Honthraner. Four heirs to the fortune of a rich relative who just died are called together for the reading of the deceased's wills at a typically creepy old mansion outside of Atlanta. Once in the spooky old house they start getting killed off one by one...What a surprise! This film is rather odd as the overarching plot seems to be a throw back to the old haunted house films that dominated the films of the 1930s and 40s. However this film blends in voodoo themes and is a straight up 1970s blaxploitation film. As such the film is an awkward mixture but should be of interest to those interested in low budget horror and exploitation films from this time period. Full of dancing Voodoo rituals and a corpse rising from its grave. Typical, classy stuff.
