Movie Summary

Ang Lee

The film centers on scientist Bruce Banner, and his alter ego, the Hulk. He is a brilliant scientist that works with his ex-girlfriend, Betty Ross, in a laboratory funded by the United States Military. Banner is conducting research in genetics when he is accidentally exposed to massive amounts of gamma radiation. Soon after, Banner meets his father David Banner, who was also a scientist working in genetics and radiation. David tells of an incident in which Bruce's DNA was mutated as a child, which has caused him to react to the gamma radiation in a unique way. Bruce soon discovers the effect of the mutation when he is angered by all of the problems in his life and transforms into the Hulk. The Hulk destroys the laboratory and escapes before transforming back into its alter ego. Bruce awakens to find that he has now become the highest priority for military officials who hope to weaponize his mutation.
