The Human Stain is a thriller movie featuring some of Hollywood's biggest stars. Dr. Coleman Silk (Anthony Hopkins) is a university classics professor who is well-respected in his small New England town. He is married with children but finds himself touching base with infidelity. A beautiful young woman named Faunia Farley (Nicole Kidman) is a troubled cleaning woman who grabs Dr. Silk's attention, which leads to the beginning of their affair. Their passionate sexual relationship carries on until Faunia's jealous and hot-tempered husband Lester (Ed Harris) comes into the picture. He finds out about the affair and becomes infuriated, leading to dangerous outcomes. Dr. Coleman now has to protect himself from Lester all the while troubles at work and home arise. His life comes tumbling down when a huge secret he's been harboring for over 50 years is finally revealed. A revered New England professor finds himself facing some devastating consequences.
