The Hunger is a stylish 1983 erotic thriller about modern-day vampires directed by Tony Scott (Top Gun). The film begins with the beautiful Miriam Blaylock (Catherine Deneuve) and her companion, John (David Bowie), bringing home a hip young couple from a nightclub and slitting their throats. Miriam is an Egyptian vampire, a bloodsucker without fangs, who enjoys her companions until they begin a rapid aging process. When John starts to fade, he seeks help from medical researcher Sarah Roberts (Susan Sarandon), who has been investigating the process of human aging. At first, Sarah does not believe John's story, but her curiosity brings her to the apartment he shares with Miriam after she sees he has aged decades in just a few hours. Sarah becomes drawn into their dark world after Miriam seduces her and she becomes Miriam's new companion. Meanwhile, a missing young girl brings Lieutenant Allegrezza (Dan Hedaya) to their door, and the hidden world of the vampires will rumble with unexpected changes.
