Each victim endured bondage and torture before they were killed. Despite the police in Wichita and the FBI investigating the murders, the BTK Killer vanished. The unsolved murders remained on the FBI radar for many years, but with no new insight. Then is 2004, a cryptic note warned the police and residents of Wichita that the killer was coming back. Detective Jason Magida (Robert Forster) made it his personal mission to find the serial killer before he could take more lives. The detective caught break when the killer made a mistake and led detectives to Dennis Rader (Gregg Henry). Rader was a civil servant, former scout leader and the President of his local Lutheran Church. At first glance, no one would suspect Radar of breaking any laws.
