The Hunters is a 1958 war drama directed by Dick Powell. During the Korean war, Major Cleve Saville (Robert Mitchum), a WWII veteran fighter pilot, is sent to South Korea to join the F-86 squadron. On the way to Korea, he stops in Tokyo, Japan, where he meets Lt. Ed Pell (Robert Wagner), 1st Lieut. Carl Abbott (Lee Philips) and Abbott's beautiful wife Kristina (May Britt). Pell is friendly and talkative, while Abbot is a headstrong alcoholic who has been neglecting Kristina. Sevilla is instantly attracted to Kristina and the two fall in love. This causes conflict between Seville and Abbott making it hard for them to work together. When Saville is leading the U.S F-86s into combat against North Korean MiGs however, the two pilots are shot down along with Pell and find themselves behind enemy lines. They are then forced to put personal issues aside as they begin a desperate fight for survival.
