He tries to take the robot home to his mother, the overworked Annie Hughes (Jennifer Aniston). But when the paranoid, Cold War minded agent Kent Mansley (Christopher Mcdonald) learns of the strange robot and sets out destroy it, Hogarth and his new Beatnik friend Dean McCoppin (Harry Connick Jr.) are in for the adventure of their lives trying to protect the innocent machine, hiding it inside of Dean's junkyard. Meanwhile, General Rogard (John Mahoney) of the United States Army learns of the discovery, further complicating events. The Iron Giant received a Hugo Award nomination for Best Dramatic Presentation in 2000, and features a soundtrack by Michael Kamen.
