The Joy of Sex is a 1984 teen comedy directed by Martha Coolidge. It is part of the wildly popular National Lampoon film series. When Leslie Helenberg (Michelly Meyrink) goes to her doctor to get a mole examined, she mistakenly thinks the physician told her she only a few weeks left to live. After hearing the bad news, innocent Leslie decides that she wants to quickly lose her virginity before she dies. Hormone-driven Alan (Cameron Dye), who is also a virgin, is more than willing to help beautiful Leslie achieve her new goal. However, his passion keeps being thwarted by Leslie's scary, overbearing father, Coach Hindenberg (Christopher Lloyd), who is the high school gym teacher. In the midst of this teen sex drama, undercover detective Liz Sampson (Colleen Camp) is in the high school posing as a hot, sexy new student so that she can bust an illegal teenage drug ring.
