The Karate Kid III is the 1989 conclusion to the original trilogy of Karate Kid films, starring Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and Pat Morita as Daniel's wise teacher, Mr. Miyagi. Having twice-defeated John Kreese's villainous students, the Cobra Kai dojo is now defunct and struggling for business. In a last ditch effort to revive the school, Kreese hires a notorious Karate fighter named Mike Barnes to fight Daniel in the annual All-Valley Karate Tournament and take back the title. Daniel and Mr. Miyagi both agree that the only motive for entering the tournament again would be personal gain, and therefore decline Barnes' challenge. When the Cobra Kai begin harassing Daniel, the young warrior's resolve against entering the tournament begins to waver. Martin Kove reprises his role as the disturbed Cobra Kai sensei John Kreese. Sean Kanan plays Mike Barnes, Karate's Bad Boy, and Robyn Lively plays Jessica Andrews, Daniel's new love interest. The Karate Kid III is an action-packed underdog story, bringing to a close the three-part tale of Daniel's struggle with Cobra Kai.
