The Kid from Texas is a thrilling western about the notorious outlaw Billy the Kid (Audie Murphy). Realizing that his murderous tendencies may cost him his life, Billy tries to turn over a new leaf by taking a job on a ranch in New Mexico. Almost immediately after he arrives, he discovers that his employer is involved in a vicious battle for territory with several other nearby ranchers. Billy tries valiantly to stay neutral, but explodes in a maelstrom of fury when his boss is shot dead one afternoon. The new owner of the ranch takes advantage of Billy's rage and sends him off to shoot his rivals in a cold-blooded revenge mission. With tenacious Lincoln County sheriff Pat Garrett (Frank Wilcox) hot on his trail, the Kid escapes into the neighboring hills. He knows that if Garrett catches him, he'll hang. However, staying away proves very difficult for Billy, as he has become infatuated with the young wife of his new employer.moreless
